Dominic interviewing Utah Senator Orin Hatch at Republican National Convention.

After years of working as a radio journalist, Dominic would enter the world of television news and became an instant sensation. He had the magic touch.  But every time he took two steps forward, his mother's madness would cause him to take one step back.  Dominic tried to show compassion for her as years wore on.  His career would hit an all-time high, but Dominic's personal life neared an all-time low.

Sometimes on TV Dominic literally drive politicians to tears, but no one knew his mother was dying, and he was fighting back a tidal wave of emotions.  Finally, Dominic Carter would conduct the toughest interview of his life, confronting his mother about her abuse and betrayal.

When his mother died on a Super Bowl Sunday, Dominic after years of abuse at the hands of his own mother, tried to fight the grief. He thought he could remove himself emotionally.

The truth of the matter was he feared if he started crying, he might not be able to stop.

Time out NY
