This is Dominic Carter's first book. The veteran newsman has been described as New York’s best political reporter working in television today. He has appeared on the cover of the New York Times TV Guide, and in a second profile the Times called him "a force to be reckoned with."

Dominic received widespread acclaim for his role as moderator for a series of state-wide debates in 2006, including critical debates for governor, U.S. Senate and state attorney general.  During the first debate with Senator Hillary Clinton, he made national broadcasts as Clinton admitted for the very first time that she is thinking about running for President.

Thirty years later, after the trip to Central Park with his mother, there would be a visit to the white house.

Psychiatric Report on Dominic's Mother when he was only 2 years old.

"She wants to be a good Mother and is quite alarmed by her recent angry outburst and thoughts of strangling her son." She has had frightening thoughts of pushing her son out the window and has heard a voice tell her to "do it."

A young boy who would one day grow up to be an award winning television journalist - heralded by the New York Times and The Washington Post - called the very best - who would also go toe to toe with "America's Mayor Rudy Giuliani and face to face with President Clinton and the like - first had to survive one of the most heart wrenching child abuses cases in New York City in the early seventies.  Sadly, his tormentor was his own mother.  His life story is one of dealing with a mother suffering from mental illness, child abuse, and the power to overcome anything.

One of the highlights of Dominic's Career

During Nelson Mandela's historic 1990's  trip to America upon being released from Prison, thousands of Journalists wanted to nail the interview with him, and there was unprecedented security from the U.S. State Department.  In New York only two journalists would succeed.  Dominic Carter and Ted Koppell of ABC . As you might expect with Dominic's competitive nature, Dominic even scooped Koppell's highly successful show at the time Nightline.  Dominc's Mandela interview aired first, and was also live on the radio.

Growing up, when Dominic's mother wasn't around, she was probably in a mental hospital or maybe she was wrestling with an abusive relationship.  Maybe she was hallucinating on the psychotropic drugs she was given. Or maybe she was simply depressed.  But she never expressed any remorse for breaking his heart.  His mother never said she was sorry.  To her dying day, Laverne Carter never told Dominic she was sorry. Laverne never healed physically or emotionally.  And now Dominic Carter has interviewed Presidents, heads of states, and movie stars.  Assignments have taken him around the world and back.  From Israel to Japan, Somalia, and Persian Gulf.  He made more money then any child could imagine, especially being raised in the tough New York City housing projects of the South Bronx, and a product of Public School.  Yet something kept nagging him.  He was never really happy... what could it be?  It was his mother and the secret that he had compartmentalized for all these years.

He had to get this secret out in the open so that Dominic could be free of the baggage, anger, and frustration that he had bestowed amongst himself and so many people.  "No Momma's Boy" is his story... his struggles, and his journey all the way to the very top.  He cover the most powerful people in the world, and they had no clue what happened to him.  His story will bring tears to your eyes.  It is very embarrassing what he's about to release, but in Dominic's words, "the truth must be told."
